ASKED QUESTIONS

How do private and communal cremation differ and what is the best choice for me?Our private cremation services are the exclusive use of the cremation chamber for only your pet(s). The cost of private cremation is higher; however, this service allows for exclusively your pets remains (ashes) to be returned to you for either keeping in an urn, jewelry, or other type of memorial box to scatter privately in the future. Communal cremation is a more economical option where multiple pets are placed in the cremation chamber, without separation or segregation. Remains (ashes) are not returned to the owner; however, there are many other unique ways to memorialize your pet. We offer clay paw prints, or ink prints. Alpine Memorial Pet Services will offer peaceful memory in the Memorial Garden for those who want to reflect at a later time.

Should I bury or cremate my pet?The decision of whether to bury or cremate a pet is a personal one, and we want to support our friends and fur families with dignity and compassion. Pet cremation is the same process as ordinary cremation, bringing with it all the same advantages and potential drawbacks that you might think of when you consider cremation on a human level. Just a few of the most common benefits to take into consideration here include the following: It’s flexible: With cremation, you have the option of keeping your pet’s ashes in an urn, scattering them in a special place, or even incorporating them into a piece of jewelry or art work. It’s environmentally friendly: Cremation is a more eco-friendly option than burial, as it doesn’t involve the use of chemicals or the consumption of land. On the other hand, pet burial is a more traditional option that some pet owners prefer. It allows pet owners to visit their pet’s grave and pay their respects. However, it can be more expensive than cremation, and it requires a suitable location for burial.

What happens to my pets ashes after cremation? With cremation, you have the option of keeping your pet’s ashes in an urn, scattering them in a special place, or even incorporating them into a piece of jewelry or art work. Once we have cremated the remains, the cremains are returned to the pet family within 7 days in the choice of their scatter boxes if you have requested a private cremation, or we return to the Vet clinic and they take them to the Memory Garden.
-
